All the winners poze for photo on the Cartier stage.

BlindLook, which produces technological solutions for the visually impaired, has reached another milestone on its meaningful journey that began in 2019 with the slogan "An Accessible World for Everyone!" Combining artificial intelligence and voice technology to make the lives of visually impaired individuals easier, BlindLook has received many national and international awards since its establishment. This time, the great honor comes from China. The first prize at Cartier’s Women Initiative was awarded to Sadriye Görece.

One of the Cartier Women’s Initiative awards, given annually to women entrepreneurs who make an impact worldwide, went to Sadriye Görece, co-founder of BlindLook. At the ceremony held in Shanghai, China, women entrepreneurs from around the world who won awards in different categories were present, and Sadriye Görece received the first prize in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category.

Since its founding, BlindLook has produced technology for the visually impaired and collaborated with brands to make their products and services more accessible. Last year, the company sent its founders to the USA for global expansion steps, and with this award, it has made its name more known worldwide.

Cartier Women’s Initiative 2024

Founded in France in 1874 and selling luxury segment products, Cartier established the Cartier Women’s Initiative in 2006 to award women entrepreneurs who aim to change the world and make significant impacts. Over 18 years, dozens of women entrepreneurs have been honored. Today, with 9 regional and 2 thematic awards, it recognizes women entrepreneurs from around the world for their impactful work. This year, the award ceremony was held in Shanghai, China.

An Accessible World for Everyone

The BlindLook founders, who were in China for the award ceremony, had the opportunity to introduce the globally expanding BlindLook and participate in various networking events of the award ceremony. Cihat Ersin Aydın, one of BlindLook’s founders, said: "It’s an incredible feeling to see that the step we took in a restaurant in 2019 has led to winning one of the most prestigious entrepreneurship awards in the world here in China today. We thought that something had to change in this world, which is 80% visual, and that life could be designed for the visually impaired as well. Each success on this journey we embarked on with Sadriye brings us closer to our dream of 'An Accessible World for Everyone,' but there is still a long way to go, and we are ready for it."

We Want to Spread BlindLook to the Whole World

BlindLook co-founder Sadriye Görece, who took the stage in Shenzhen to receive the award, expressed her thoughts: "I am both happy and proud! The belief that 'We can change this world!' which is renewed every day, has taken on a larger form with this award and has given us new energy. It was an amazing feeling to talk about the path we are walking with our more than 60 EyeBrands (Brands for the Visually Impaired) at an international award ceremony and to be applauded by women who are doing great things to change the world. With all these feelings, we now have stronger reasons to start tomorrow with new energy and to spread BlindLook to the whole world."
